Structured AI readiness services for UK businesses.
Three fixed-price, senior-led services — from initial diagnostic through to ongoing advisory. Each is designed to stand alone or connect sequentially as your readiness programme develops.
A logical sequence, not a locked-in path.
Most clients begin with the Foundation Review — a structured diagnostic that produces a clear picture of where the business stands across the four AI readiness layers. What comes next depends on what the diagnostic finds. There is no predefined upsell path.
Foundation Review
Understand exactly where you stand. Four weeks, written report, leadership readout. The starting point for any well-structured AI programme.

The Foundation Review is a structured four-week diagnostic engagement covering all four AI readiness foundation layers. It produces a written report with specific findings for your business, a prioritised action roadmap sequenced by layer, and a senior readout with your leadership team.
The Review is designed as a standalone deliverable. It has clear value regardless of whether you commission further work with us — you leave with a complete picture of where your business stands and a clear, actionable view of what to address and in what order.
It is also the prerequisite for any Layer Build programme. We do not recommend building on findings we have not made ourselves.
- A clear assessment of your current readiness across all four foundation layers
- Specific findings rather than generic recommendations — mapped to your actual operational state
- A sequenced action roadmap with prioritisation rationale
- A written report you can share with your board, investors, or leadership team
- A senior readout session with your leadership team included in the engagement
Pricing can flex to £6,500 for businesses where budget is a genuine constraint. Discuss during scoping.
Layer Build Programmes.
Following a Foundation Review, Layer Build programmes address specific readiness gaps identified in the diagnostic. Each programme focuses on a single foundation layer — the one the Review identified as the priority given your current operational state and AI objectives.
Builds are sequenced deliberately. The four foundation layers have dependencies — work on higher layers before lower ones are stable produces fragile results. The Foundation Review determines which layer to address first and why.
Where a business needs work across multiple layers, we build a phased programme sequenced correctly and priced per layer — not as a single bundled engagement.
- Targeted remediation of the specific gap identified in your Foundation Review
- Defined deliverables per layer — documented, transferable, and yours to own
- Structured to connect to the next layer build without rework
- Fixed price per layer programme, agreed before work begins
All Layer Build pricing is per-layer, fixed price, agreed in writing before work begins. Ranges reflect variation in scope and business complexity — final price confirmed at scoping.
Retained Advisory.
Retained Advisory provides ongoing access to senior, independent AI readiness expertise as your programme develops. It is available as a complement to active Layer Build programmes, or as a standalone arrangement for businesses that have completed their foundation work and want an independent perspective as they move into implementation.
Retainer engagements are structured and purposeful — not an open-ended advisory arrangement billed by the hour. Each month includes defined touchpoints, and the scope is reviewed quarterly against where your programme actually is.
- Monthly senior advisory sessions with agenda set by your current programme priorities
- Quarterly readiness review against the baseline established in the Foundation Review
- Independent vendor and tool assessment as required — without referral bias
- Async access for questions and sense-checks between formal sessions
- Board or executive briefing support, included in the senior tier
Retainer scope is confirmed at engagement start. The difference between tiers reflects session frequency and executive briefing access — full breakdown on the Retained Advisory page.
All pricing is fixed and agreed in advance.
We publish our pricing because transparency is part of how we work. No time-and-materials billing. No surprises at invoice.

We work best with a specific kind of client.
ReadyLayer is not the right fit for every business. Our engagements require active participation from the client — access to operational information, genuine leadership involvement, and a willingness to act on findings that may require difficult decisions about existing investments.
The clients who get the most from our work are typically businesses with clear AI ambitions, some early experience of AI deployment, and a growing sense that the returns are not matching the investment.
Most clients start with the Foundation Review.
Four weeks. Fixed price. A clear picture of where your business stands — and a sequenced plan for what to address first.
